The governor has been under siege with the harassment charges since last year. And he is also facing a renewed scandal of his handling of nursing homes during COVID-19.

“New York tough means New York loving, and I love New York and I love you,” Cuomo said, “I would never want to be unhelpful in any way, and I think given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let the government get back to governing, and therefore, that’s what I’ll do.”

Time’s Up Roberta Kaplan resigns

Roberta Kaplan resigned from Time’s Up on Monday. “Unfortunately, recent events have made it clear that even our apparent allies in the fight to advance women can turn out to be abusers,” Kaplan wrote.

Co-founder of Time’s Up, Kaplan resigned when the Attorney General’s investigation revealed the New York attorney helped Gov. Cuomo to compose a letter attempting to smear Lindsey Boylan, one of his accusers.

Her resignation came after a post by survivors of sexual abuse who claim the organization had “prioritized its proximity to power over the mission.” And it added, “abandoned the very people it was supposed to champion.”
