e, Chas Moore, executive director, Austin Justice Coalition, commented that Ramos was fleeing to survive based on the videos of the incident that were posted on social media. He described the incident as a direct attack on people of color and called on Manley to resign from his position.
Moore said, “He was doing what I would call the universal sign of retreat. He has his hands up and after he was shot with a bean bag, he drove away, not towards the police, in what we would consider a flee for survival.”
“We are asking for the resignation of Chief Brian Manley. We do not fee he has passed any test as police chief, in his time,” added Moore.
