Gov. Cuomo says a District Attorney will investigate Schneiderman

Prior to Schneiderman’s statement, Governor Andrew Cuomo called for his resignation. The governor emphasized that “no one is above the lae, including New York’s top legal officer.”

Additionally, Gov. Cuomo said the pattern of facts and corroboration laid out in the New Yorker article are “damning.” The governor believes that it is impossible for Schneiderman to continue to serve as Attorney General. He said, For the good of the office, he should resign.”

In the article, the four women shared separate but similar stories that Schneiderman repeatedly slapped, choked, and degraded them. Each of the woman had romantic relationship or encounters with the New York Attorney General.

Furthermore, Gov. Cuomo said he will be requesting an appropriate New York District Attorney to commence and investigation” into the accusations against Schneiderman.”
