Musk has also recently tweeted that Twitter is “trending to break even” and that he had to “save” the platform from bankruptcy. However, Musk is still facing legal claims from laid-off Twitter employees. And lawsuits from landlords claiming that Twitter offices have fallen behind on rent.

This is not the first time that Musk has been the world’s richest person. In 2021, he beat Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to take the top spot. Musk, Arnault, and Bezos have periodically swapped places at the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Elon Musk’s net worth has reached an all-time high of $187.1 billion, which makes him the wealthiest person in the world. With Tesla’s stock trending up since January and Musk’s success in the San Francisco civil trial, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his position as the world’s wealthiest person for the rest of 2023.
