Amid the news of Lake’s potential run for Senate, she’s faced many negative reactions. AZ Central, one of the largest publications in the Grand Canyon State, mocked Lake, given word she may launch another campaign.
The publication also poked fun at Lake’s false claims of election fraud, stating that a “real governor” of Arizona can’t also run for the Senate.
AZ Central then predicted that Lake will make a final decision about running for Senate after she’s worn out all efforts to overturn the state’s gubernatorial election results.
Poor odds for Lake?
Like the race for governor, the race for Senate is statewide. This means in order for Lake to secure a Senate seat, the majority of Arizona voters would have to back her.
However, the last time Lake needed votes from most Arizonans, she lost to a Democrat. One could argue that Lake’s wild attacks against election officials have only further caused the Arizona electorate to sour on her. One could also make the same assertion about Lake’s failed litigation against the 2022 election.
