Law Firm’s Questionable Tactics Threaten Media Freedom

Instead, the Kelly/Warner method seeks to cover up the “false” news—not necessarily debunk it or tell the true story. If lawyers continue to circumvent the legal system this way, it could mean news organizations have little control over what they cover—or in what light they cover it.

The Arizona State Bar may be able to stop the trend, if it can make an example out of Kelly/Warner. The Bar is currently investigating the firm for ethics violations after a formal complaint was lodged by Charles Rodrick, a previous client on another case with fake filing implications. Rodrick filed the complaint on June 2.
