Mark Zuckerberg made headlines Friday with a dramatic appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast. Over nearly three hours, the Meta CEO offered an unfiltered look at his thoughts on politics, technology, and the future of the digital and physical worlds.

He discussed a range of topics, including Meta’s moderation policies, diversity and inclusion shifts, and his grievances with the Biden administration.

Clashes with the Biden Administration

Zuckerberg didn’t hold back when discussing the Biden administration’s pressure on Meta to moderate content. He recounted how senior officials demanded the removal of specific posts, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Zuckerberg, these interactions included aggressive phone calls where government officials would “scream and curse” at Meta’s team over posts they deemed problematic.

“They pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly, were true,” Zuckerberg told Rogan. “They basically pushed us and said, ‘Anything that says vaccines might have side effects, you basically need to take down.’ And I was just like, ‘Well, we’re not gonna do that.'”
