In Cohen’s own words:

“There still remains much to be told and I look forward to the day that I can share the truth. I hope that when I rejoin my family and friends that the country will be in place without xenophobia, injustice and lies at [the] helm of our country.”

Prior to Cohen’s legal issues, he repeatedly and openly gave testament about the great character of then-candidate Trump. The president’s former attorney even once stated that he would “take a bullet” for him. However, that all changed as the federal authorities closed in on Cohen.

The Attempt to Save Himself

President Trump has ongoingly maintained that Cohen’s swipes at him are merely an attempt to lessen his legal woes. Earlier this year, Cohen testified before Congress and made a series of shocking, appalling accusations about the president. The former fixer moreover alleged that Trump is a racist, a conman and someone who cheats.

Following his testimony, Cohen attempted to get help from Democrats to lower or postpone his prison sentence. Democrats, however, declined to be of aid.
