“Our cities are being undermined. And we don’t deserve this. Migrants don’t deserve this. And the people who live in the cities don’t deserve this,” Adams said as was leaving Texas after a weekend visiting the border.
“We expect more from our national leaders to address this issue in a real way.”
“New York cannot take more. We can’t. No city deserves what is happening,” Adams added.
Adams also criticized governors for transporting immigrants from the border to cities. Claiming that governors from Republican Texas and Democrat Colorado were displaying “bipartisan disrespect for cities and it was wrong.”
