Responses to the Government Shutdown
The latest shutdown of the government has prompted a variety of responses. Many conservatives and members of President Trump’s base blame Democrat leaders for refusing to work with the president on border security.
Conversely, Americans with left-leaning ideologies are overwhelmingly criticizing Trump. Various liberal celebrities have even taken swipes at Trump’s presidency and maturity levels. Others are urging the commander-in-chief to resign from office.
Yesterday, Pelosi stated that House Democrats will move to reopen the government if it is still closed by January 3, 2019. This is the day where Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives.
