The US government’s civil lawsuit against PSSI indicates otherwise, however.

More details coming soon?

So far, legal investigations into children working for Packers Sanitation Services Inc. and JBS Foods is still underway. Nevertheless, the fact that minor children worked in slaughterhouses, went without sleep, and suffered chemical burns does not look good.

There’s a reason why the federal government is digging into what could very well be labor trafficking.

US Child Labor Regulations alone deem that the work these minors did in slaughterhouses was innately hazardous. Therefore, this makes the work in breach of US labor laws.

According to the Labor Department, its probe into this suspected human trafficking case involves 50 separate work locations and began back in August 2022. What all comes from this investigation remains to be seen.

Though if these companies are found to have labor trafficked children, all adults involved must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Anyone who wishes to report what they believe to be human trafficking can contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline via phone at 1 (888) 373-7888 or by text at 233733.
