No “space” weather is harmful to humans. The Earth’s atmosphere forms a protective layer that shields the planet. But space hurricanes can cause interference problems for orbiting satellites because the radiation associated with the sun’s charged particles can interfere with orbiting satellites, telecommunications, power grids, and GPS technology.
Since the 2014 space hurricane was over the North Pole, there were no effects on any ground-level infrastructure on the Earth. Experts believe this is the first-ever space hurricane recorded and is a very rare occurrence. And as long as they stay in space we have nothing to fear.
