Jones Day, Littler Mendelson PC, and Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart PC top BTI Consulting Group’s annual list of law firms with the most “all star” attorneys, each having seven attorneys recognized by in-house leaders for their exceptional service to clients.
Leading the Pack of All Stars Attorneys Firms
Tuesday’s 23rd annual report, based on anonymous nominations by general counsel and other in-house principals of the lawyers they consider exemplary, also highlights six attorneys each from BakerHostetler, DLA Piper, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, King & Spalding LLP, McGuireWoods LLP, and Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP.
BTI’s president, Michael Rynowecer, told Law360 Pulse that many clients prefer attorneys who think creatively, anticipate their needs, and are good listeners.
“These all stars have clearly thought about their clients and tried to think about the questions that they’re going to ask,” Rynowecer said. “The clients tell us that they’ll ask a question about a new topic or something they might not have discussed before, and it seems like the all stars are just ready to talk about it.”
All Stars Attorneys Firms : Top Recognized Attorneys
Of the 296 attorneys named in the report, only two were cited by more than one client: Jennifer Battle of Carpenter Lipps LLP and Andrew Wronski of Foley & Lardner LLP. Clients praised the two attorneys for their assertiveness, knowledge of the law, and ability to provide excellent technical expertise, according to BTI.
Methodology and Insights
The report is based on more than 300 interviews with top legal decision-makers at large organizations with over $700 million in annual revenue, conducted between April 2023 and March 2024. BTI did not accept self-referrals, law firm submissions, or suggestions for inclusion in the report.
