U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania arrived in Rome on Friday evening ahead of the papal funeral. On Saturday, April 26, they paid their last respects to Pope Francis at a solemn ceremony held at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.

Melania Trump, who traveled on her 55th birthday, wore traditional all-black mourning attire, complete with a funeral veil. President Trump acknowledged the unusual birthday circumstances during remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One.
