German automaker BMW - Bayerische Motoren Werke AG has announced a safety recall affecting tens of thousands of vehicles across the United States due to a potential electrical wiring defect. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 58,713 vehicles are included in the recall.

The issue involves the wiring harness connected to the air conditioning system. Authorities say the harness may become damaged over time, which could lead to a short circuit inside affected vehicles. If the electrical fault occurs, it could create risks of system malfunction or, in some cases, increase the possibility of fire hazards.

The recall covers several high-performance and luxury models manufactured by BMW. Among the vehicles listed are the BMW M5, M5 Sportswagon, and the 750e xDrive. Owners of these models are advised to check whether their vehicles are part of the safety campaign and follow guidance provided by the company and safety regulators.

BMW stated that the recall is being carried out as part of its commitment to vehicle safety and quality control. The company has not publicly reported accidents or injuries directly linked to the wiring issue.
