The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board confirmed that the appeal lodged by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) was “declared admissible in form and the appeal is upheld,” effectively overturning the original result and stripping Senegal of what would have been their second continental crown.

CAF Appeal Board Rules Against Senegal

While most of Senegal’s squad followed Thiaw off the pitch, star forward Sadio Mane tried to rally his teammates back.
