Decomposed Body Found in San Jose Vehicle Linked to Missing Man

SAN JOSE — Authorities in East San Jose are investigating after a decomposed body was discovered inside a vehicle, potentially connected to a man reported missing earlier this year.
Police responded shortly before 7 a.m. on March 21 to Francis Drive near McKee Road following a report of "suspicious circumstances." Officers found a body inside a vehicle that was described as "severely" decomposed.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner took possession of the body, which remains unidentified, police said.
The registered owner of the vehicle, 40-year-old Aldama Refugio Jr. of San Jose, had been reported missing after last being seen in early 2026. San Jose police investigators suspect foul play may be involved.
As part of the ongoing inquiry, officers recovered a red two-door Nissan Frontier pickup linked to Refugio.
Police are asking anyone with information about Refugio, the vehicle, or the circumstances surrounding the disappearance to contact Detective Sgt. Taylor or Detective Van Brande via email or by calling 408-504-1326.
