At 9:00 PM EST, Vice President Harris and former President Trump will face off on the debate stage. This may be the only time in the 2024 election that Americans get to see the Democratic and GOP nominees go head-to-head with one another.
During tonight’s debate, both Harris and Trump will receive questions about the economy, immigration, the war in Israel, abortion, and other pivotal matters. Whichever candidate becomes the 47th president is going to have to tackle these important matters, along with many others.
Ahead of tonight, a new KFF poll shined a light on the issues that are most important to voters. Unsurprisingly, the economy falls under this bracket.
What’s weighing on the minds of the American people?
KFF revealed that 38% of the country feels inflation and economy will have the greatest impact on their votes come November. Roughly 20% said the same about abortion, with half of this group stating it’s essential for them to vote for a candidate who shares their views.
Other concerns, such as overall healthcare expenses, insurance costs, and prescription drug fees, are viewed by a minority of Americans as most pivotal to the November race.
