Because the business failed to publish an official press release or fully notify its distribution network, federal authorities took the matter into their own hands to protect vulnerable shoppers.

Unlabeled Treats Pose Fatal Risks

Consuming these items puts thousands of individuals with specific food sensitivities at immediate risk for severe medical emergencies, including anaphylaxis. The FDA confirmed that the hidden ingredients can trigger sudden, life-threatening allergic reactions.

Federal investigators identified four distinct product varieties distributed with the hazardous, unlisted ingredients:

• Imperial Chocolate Covered Chickpea Cookies (8-oz): Labeled with an expiration date of 10.30.26; contains hidden milk.

• Chickpea Cookies with Imperial Logo (16-oz): Labeled with an expiration date of 12.28.26; contains hidden wheat.

• Imperial Coconut Cookies (10-oz): Labeled with an expiration date of 12.30.26; contains hidden pistachio tree nuts.

• Imperial Persian Nougats / Pistachio Nougat in Flour (20-oz): Labeled with expiration dates stretching from 04.08.27 through 05.04.27; contains hidden wheat.

Government Regulators Intervene Directly

When food manufacturers refuse to cooperate with standard consumer protection requests, the federal government shifts from private negotiation to overt public intervention. The agency made its motives clear in the official enforcement declaration.

"The FDA is issuing this alert to ensure customers are aware of this safety information," the regulatory agency confirmed in its public announcement, noting that direct action became necessary after the manufacturer left the public entirely in the dark.

The agency is now instructing all retail businesses, food service operators, and commercial vendors to immediately pull these specific Imperial-branded sweets from their active inventories and store shelves.
