His arrest comes following a grand jury indictment issued on May 2, 2025.

The victim, Aliza Sherman, was a 53-year-old mother of four and a registered nurse. She was murdered outside Moore’s downtown Cleveland law office on March 24, 2013.

This arrest is the first in the case, despite years of suspicion and previous legal troubles for Moore related to the investigation.

“This goal was designed to be achieved by causing Aliza Sherman to be unavailable to attend the proceedings due to serious physical harm and/or death,” reads the unsealed indictment, which outlines a plan to prevent Sherman from appearing at a divorce hearing scheduled for the day after her death.
