HOUSTON — A quiet River Oaks neighborhood is reeling after Houston police say two adults and two children were found dead in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide, a tragedy that has left an entire community shaken and searching for answers.

The devastating discovery unfolded at a home in the 2100 block of Kingston Street, where all four victims, described by officials as family members, were found dead following a shooting inside the residence.

Shocking Discovery Inside River Oaks Home

Authorities say the four individuals were discovered after police were called to the property. According to officials, a babysitter and a relative contacted law enforcement after growing concerned when they had not heard from the family.

Police confirmed they were the only ones who entered the home before finding the victims inside.

Houston police say the investigation remains in its early phases as detectives work to piece together what led to the deadly incident. At this time, the case is being treated as a suspected murder-suicide.

Neighbor Cindy described the emotional impact the deaths have had on those living nearby.

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 19 years and never seen anything like this. We haven’t had these kind of tragedies. We don’t have robberies. We have incredible constables in this neighborhood, but it’s very sad. I just shake for the little kids," Cindy said.
