“You no longer have to trade quality for latency,” Google said in a blog post, underscoring its push to eliminate the traditional trade-off between speed and capability.

The company also emphasized improvements in safety and reliability. Google said it has strengthened cybersecurity protections for Gemini 3.5 Flash, making it “less likely to generate harmful content and mistakenly refuse to answer safe queries.”

Meanwhile, Google confirmed that Gemini 3.5 Pro, its more powerful and resource-intensive model, is currently being used internally.
