House Subpoenas Wexner, Epstein Lawyer and Accountant as Survivors Press for Answers on His Network

The House Oversight Committee has issued a Jeffrey Epstein subpoena to three men described as central figures in his inner circle, ordering billionaire Les Wexner, longtime lawyer Darren Indyke, and accountant Richard Kahn to testify publicly.

Rep. Robert Garcia, the committee’s top Democrat, framed the move as a turning point, saying, "Oversight Democrats fought hard to get these subpoenas and forced the vote on Republicans. Now, the Committee will hear directly from the individuals most closely involved in Epstein's inner circle. We will not stop until we get answers," in a statement.

Why the Jeffrey Epstein Subpoena Matters?

A lawyer for Indyke and Kahn told CBS News the men accepted the subpoenas and plan to cooperate, while disputing the claims behind them. Daniel H. Weiner said the allegations are "false." He added, "It is worth emphasizing that not a single woman has ever accused either Mr. Indyke or Mr. Kahn of committing sexual abuse or witnessing sexual abuse, nor claimed at any time that she reported to them any allegation of Mr. Epstein's abuse," and later wrote that "Indyke and Kahn did not socialize with Mr. Epstein, and they have always rejected as categorically false any suggestion that they knowingly facilitated or assisted Mr. Epstein in his sexual abuse or trafficking of women, or that they were aware of Mr. Epstein's actions while they provided legal and accounting services to Mr. Epstein."

CBS News reported that Indyke began working with Epstein in the 1980s and later became deeply involved in his operations, including helping build a base in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Kahn reportedly managed Epstein’s finances and handled details linked to Epstein’s properties, including projects on his private island. Indyke and Kahn also recently settled a lawsuit that alleged they helped enable Epstein’s trafficking network, including claims involving sham marriages used for immigration purposes, according to the report.

Wexner, founder of The Limited, had a long financial relationship with Epstein that dated back to the mid 1980s. CBS News reported the two split after Epstein’s 2006 arrest but remained in contact based on documents referenced in prior litigation.

Attorney Brad Edwards, who has represented many Epstein victims, said, "Epstein is dead. If anyone has questions they would ask of Epstein on any topic, those questions should either be directed to Darren, Rich or Leslie [Wexner]."

The report also noted that Epstein appointed Indyke and Kahn as executors of his will, giving them control over the estate.

Lawmakers said the Jeffrey Epstein subpoena is intended to clarify how his legal and financial network operated and who was responsible for key decisions.

The subpoenas come as the committee continues hearing testimony from figures tied to Epstein’s world and reviewing materials released by the Justice Department. CBS News reported that the committee recommended holding former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt after they declined to appear in person, submitting sworn declarations instead.

Ghislaine Maxwell is scheduled to appear on Feb. 9, and her lawyers have said she plans to invoke the Fifth Amendment. The subpoenaed witnesses are set for separate dates: Wexner on Feb. 18, Kahn on Feb. 25, and Indyke on March 5, 2026.

The Jeffrey Epstein subpoena marks one of the most significant congressional efforts to examine how Epstein’s network operated.

The testimony follows earlier USA Herald reporting on the broader Epstein investigation.

The House Oversight Committee is reviewing materials released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
