Iran Threatens New Weapons As Congressman Suggests Tehran “UFO” Might Be Ours

A Tennessee congressman is floating a very different explanation for the glowing object filmed over Tehran this week. Iran's Revolutionary Guard is promising surprises if Washington strikes again. And Trump won't say yet whether he'll sit down with Iran's president at the UN.

By Samuel López | USA Herald

Rep. Tim Burchett didn't say aliens built the object filmed in the Iranian night sky. He said something simpler, and stranger: "It's legit. It's something up there." That's it. That's the whole confirmation. No program name, no Pentagon sign-off, no smoking gun. 100PercentFedUp

What he offered instead was a theory, and it's a good one if you think about it for more than five seconds. Why would a craft capable of crossing light years light itself up like a parade float? Burchett's answer points back to Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative — Star Wars — a missile shield program that never fully worked the way the public imagined, but scared the Soviets into believing it might. The value wasn't the hardware. It was the doubt. An adversary staring at something it can't identify, can't track, and can't shoot down starts making decisions based on fear of what it doesn't understand.

That's the frame Burchett seems to be working from. Not little green men, but Washington letting a mystery do quiet work that a press release never could. He's not claiming to know what the object actually is. He's saying the uncertainty itself might be the point.

Here's the thing worth sitting with: he can't say more, and he knows it. If this is a classified system, he's not going to blow it open on a livestream. So take the theory for what it is — informed speculation from a lawmaker who's spent years elbow-deep in the government's UAP files, not a leak.

The timing matters. This object surfaced days after Iran's Revolutionary Guard put out its own warning, and that one didn't require any speculation to understand. IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said Tehran would shift its approach entirely if the US strikes again, promising significant changes in Iran's defense and counteroffensive posture and weapons with capabilities the world hasn't seen yet. He didn't name the weapons. He didn't name the targets, beyond saying they wouldn't be the same ones as before. That's deliberate. Threats built on specifics can be picked apart and countered. Threats built on "you'll find out" are harder to plan against. Daily Sabah

If Burchett's theory holds up, that guessing game might be exactly the strategy — and the object over Tehran might be less a mystery than a message.
