Some companies grow steadily, year over year, in predictable increments. Others double in value practically overnight — and Island just did exactly that. The enterprise-focused artificial intelligence company revealed Thursday that its valuation has soared to $6.4 billion after closing its latest funding round, bringing $400 million in fresh capital along with it.

A Valuation That More Than Doubled

According to a statement from the company, this Series F funding round more than doubled the Dallas-based company's valuation since 2024 — a striking pace of growth even by the standards of an industry known for rapid ascents.

Building the Control Room for AI at Work

Island builds what it describes as an agentic control plane for enterprises, designed to give companies a single place to onboard, govern and audit artificial intelligence across both their human and AI-driven workforce. The company's Enterprise AI platform allows organizations to deploy AI at scale while maintaining governance, access controls, guardrails, data boundaries, human approval processes and cost oversight, according to the statement.

A Young Company With Rapid Reach

Launched in 2022, Island has already grown to employ roughly 1,000 people — a workforce expansion that mirrors the company's broader financial trajectory.

A CEO's Vision for Coexistence

Island CEO and co-founder Mike Fey framed the investment within a much larger shift reshaping how work itself gets done. "We've entered a new era in which people and AI agents work side by side. Just like humans, agents need the right context, access, guardrails, and accountability to succeed," Fey said. "Island created the first Enterprise Browser to protect the primary place people work … This investment gives us even more capacity to innovate with our customers and help them safely scale AI."

Where the New Capital Will Go

The fresh funding is earmarked to support Island's next phase of growth as enterprise-scale AI agents continue modernizing workplaces across industries, according to the statement — essentially fueling the company's bet that AI agents will soon be as commonplace in office environments as human employees themselves.

A Roster of High-Profile Backers

The funding round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from both new and existing investors joining the round. Richard Seewald, Evolution's founder and managing partner, framed the investment as recognition of a fundamental shift underway in enterprise technology. "Enterprises are rethinking the basic architecture of work. Island meets the moment with a unique advantage: it can see and govern what people and agents are doing as they interact with applications and data, wherever that happens," Seewald said. "Island has already shown it can create a category, displace legacy technologies, and accelerate customers' business transformation from the browser to the network. By extending its vision to safeguard browsers, endpoints, networks, and data, Island built the essential control layer for the next generation of enterprise computing."

A Deep Bench of Institutional Investors

Beyond Evolution Equity Partners, the Series F round attracted participation from an impressive roster of investors, including Prysm Capital, Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners and G Squared, among others — a lineup that reads like a who's-who of major institutional players betting on enterprise AI infrastructure.

Legal Details Still Emerging

Legal counsel information for the law firm advising Island was not immediately available as of Thursday, and a company representative did not immediately return a request for further information.

As AI agents increasingly take their place alongside human employees across corporate workplaces, Island's soaring valuation suggests investors see genuine long-term value not in the AI agents themselves, but in whoever builds the essential infrastructure to safely govern them.
