Maryland Judge Shot Dead

In a shocking and tragic incident, Maryland Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson met a violent end on Thursday night. He was fatally shot in the driveway of his Hagerstown home, and authorities suspect a disgruntled parent to be behind the brutal attack.

Custody Battle Turns Deadly

Earlier in the day, Judge Wilkinson presided over a heart-wrenching divorce hearing where custody of Pedro Argote’s children was awarded to his partner. This decision appears to have triggered a targeted attack on the judge. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, headed by Sheriff Brian K. Albert, is now leading the intense manhunt for Argote, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Sheriff Albert revealed, “This was a targeted attack on Judge Wilkinson. We’ve identified Pedro Argote, 49, of Frederick, Maryland, as a suspect in this case. Argote is not in custody, and if anyone has information on his whereabouts, we ask that they immediately contact local law enforcement.”
