The Knicks once again demonstrated the resilience that defined their postseason run.

Despite trailing by 10 points entering the fourth quarter and falling behind by as many as 16 points during the first half, New York stormed back to defeat the Spurs by four points. The comeback followed an equally stunning Game 4 victory in which the Knicks erased a record 29-point deficit—the largest comeback in NBA Finals history—to take control of the series.

Brunson carried the offense throughout the decisive contest, finishing with 45 points while knocking down a series of clutch baskets in the closing minutes. His scoring total set a new franchise record for the most points by a Knicks player in an NBA Finals game.

The Knicks put together a 13-game winning streak during the playoffs, sweeping both the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers before eliminating the Spurs in five games.
