NEW YORK – Continuing its strategic expansion in the finance and restructuring sector, Paul Hastings LLP announced on Monday the addition of an 11-partner team from King & Spalding LLP, including Jennifer Daly, the former co-head of King & Spalding's global finance and restructuring practice.

Jennifer Daly leads the group, joined by partners Roger Schwartz, Matthew Warren, Christopher Boies, Zachary Cochran, Peter Montoni, Geoffrey King, Lindsey Henrikson, Robert Nussbaum, and James Gallagher. Senior associate Jack Fitzpatrick will also join Paul Hastings as a partner. According to sources, the full contingent moving from King & Spalding could eventually include 15 to 20 attorneys specializing in restructuring, private credit, and special situations.

The new partners will be distributed across various Paul Hastings offices:

• New York: Daly, Schwartz, Boies, Montoni, Nussbaum, Gallagher, and Fitzpatrick
• Chicago: Warren (also working in Houston), King, and Henrikson
• Washington, D.C. and New York: Cochran

In an interview with Law360 Pulse, Daly emphasized that their move to Paul Hastings is driven by the firm’s robust banking and finance practice, alongside its top-tier restructuring capabilities.

"So for us, as a group that has always built a practice that serves its clients at every point of the investment lifecycle, it was just a very powerful offering."

Roger Schwartz echoed Daly's sentiments, highlighting the synergy between their practice approach and Paul Hastings' commitment to innovative client solutions.

This strategic hiring move is part of Paul Hastings' broader effort to strengthen its restructuring practice both in the U.S. and internationally. The firm made significant expansions two years ago by onboarding 18 financial restructuring partners from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP in New York and Los Angeles. Recently, the firm also welcomed finance and special situations partner David Hong from Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York and added eight global finance partners from Vinson & Elkins LLP in Texas.

Paul Hastings currently boasts over 80 lawyers in its restructuring practice and more than 150 lawyers in its finance group. The firm, ranked as the 55th-largest U.S. law firm on this year's Law360 400 list, employs approximately 850 attorneys and 283 partners nationwide.
