Ryan Garcia says the fight is no longer just business.

The WBC welterweight champion stunned fans Monday night when he officially announced a blockbuster clash with Conor Benn, revealing the long anticipated showdown will take place Sept. 12 in Las Vegas during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.

What began as playful banter quickly escalated into a heated promise from Garcia, who made it clear the rivalry has become deeply personal.

Speaking to Fallon, Garcia teased that his next opponent was “from the other side,” triggering confusion from the host, who jokingly wondered whether the challenger was “an alien from a UFO.”

Garcia quickly cleared it up.

"No, he's from across the pond. I'll just say his name: Conor Benn."

The unbeaten American star then turned up the intensity.

"He's talking a lot."

Garcia revealed lingering bad blood between the two fighters, recounting an encounter at an awards show two years ago that clearly still fuels his motivation heading into one of boxing’s biggest fights of the year.

"He pressed up on me, grabbed me, so it's a little personal."

"I'm going to really put a whopping on this man, and we will send him back to the UK sipping on some tea."

The September showdown marks Garcia’s first defense of the WBC welterweight title he captured in dominant fashion earlier this year.

The 27 year old star claimed the belt in February after dismantling Mario Barrios in a wide unanimous decision victory. Garcia dropped Barrios in the opening round and controlled the fight from start to finish, cementing himself as one of boxing’s biggest attractions and most dangerous punchers.

Now, he faces a surging Conor Benn who arrives with momentum, controversy, and revenge fueled confidence.

Benn heads into the fight following back to back headline events against Chris Eubank Jnr at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Their first clash was widely hailed as the 2025 Fight of the Year before Benn bounced back to avenge the loss in the rematch, restoring his standing among boxing’s elite contenders.

The British fighter improved his record to 25-1 with 14 knockouts after defeating former 140 pound champion Regis Prograis by unanimous decision on April 26.
