Doug Ose, a supporter of President Donald Trump and a former U.S. congressman is considering a bid for California governor.
On Tuesday, Ose told Sacramento Bee that he is tired watching on the sidelines as politicians fail to address issues important to Californians. Some of these issues include high taxes, homelessness, housing markets, and underperforming schools across the state.
From 1999 to 2005, Ose served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represented the third congressional district of California. He did not run for re-election because he set a term-limit for himself.
In 2014, he tried a congressional comeback in his old district. However, freshman Democrat Ami Bera defeated him.
According to Ose, “I know we can do better. We know what the Democrats are going to do. They are going to be captives of a Legislature dominated by Democrats. So I am taking a real look at the governor’s race.”

Over the past few weeks, Ose started showing up at political events. His attendance is catching the attention of Republicans who want to see him run.
