X Factor Finalist Gabrielle Carrington Charged With Attempted Murder After Mercedes Ploughs Into Influencer Klaudia Glam Outside London Soho Nightclub

LONDON — A former X Factor finalist-turned-influencer stood in the dock of one of Britain's most storied criminal courts Monday and, according to reporters inside the chamber, flashed a small heart sign toward the gallery — an image already ricocheting around social media hours later. The defendant, 29-year-old Gabrielle Carrington, known to her 365,000 Instagram followers as RIELLEUK, now faces charges of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving and drink-driving after a Mercedes she was driving ploughed into rival influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska outside a Soho nightclub.

The victim, 26-year-old Zakrzewska — better known online as Klaudia Glam to her 260,000 Instagram followers — remained in critical condition at a London hospital as of Tuesday, with investigators describing injuries so severe that she was dragged beneath the vehicle and came to rest wedged against a metal bike rack on Argyll Street.

A Dispute That Spilled Out Of The Club

Witnesses told the Metropolitan Police that Carrington and Zakrzewska had been engaged in a verbal confrontation inside and then outside the Inca nightclub shortly before closing time early Sunday. Phone footage later posted by bystanders appears to show the two women shouting at each other in the street, with passersby repeatedly stepping between them to prevent the argument from escalating into a physical fight. Within minutes, prosecutors allege, Carrington walked to her parked Mercedes, started the engine, and accelerated directly into the crowd.

The vehicle struck Zakrzewska first, dragged her forward, and continued a short distance before coming to a stop. A man in his 50s and another woman in her 30s — both previously unknown to either influencer — were also injured. Emergency services were on scene within minutes, and Zakrzewska was rushed to a major trauma centre where she underwent multiple surgeries.

From X Factor Live Finals To The Old Bailey

Carrington first entered public consciousness in 2013 as one-third of Miss Dynamix, a girl group that reached the live shows of Britain's X Factor that year under the mentorship of Nicole Scherzinger. After the group disbanded, she pivoted — as many reality-television alumni do — into the influencer economy, building a following around luxury fashion, nightlife and personal-branding content. By 2024, she had crossed a quarter of a million followers and secured brand partnerships with cosmetics, lingerie and supplement lines.

The Old Bailey magistrate who remanded her in custody Monday set the next hearing for May 19. Britain's Crown Prosecution Service confirmed in a statement that the attempted-murder charge reflects their initial assessment that the driving was "deliberate and targeted," not a tragic accident at the end of a rowdy night out.

A Rivalry Played Out In Comments And DMs

The two women, according to mutual acquaintances who spoke to British tabloids on condition of anonymity, had circled each other online for roughly eighteen months. Both operated in the same London nightlife orbit, both chased the same promotional gigs, and both had, at various points, subtweeted the other without using names. Friends of Zakrzewska said the two had clashed earlier in the evening over a mutual acquaintance. Carrington's representatives have declined to comment publicly on the alleged motive.

What happened outside Inca, however, was not a digital feud. It was a physical confrontation that ended with a heavy luxury sedan being used, prosecutors say, as a weapon on a crowded West End street at 4:30 a.m. — a detail that has turned a local celebrity-adjacent story into one of the most-searched news items of the week on both sides of the Atlantic.

Why Americans Are Watching

The story has broken through to U.S. audiences for several reasons that go beyond simple tabloid curiosity. First, both women command large followings in the United States, where English-language influencer content crosses borders seamlessly. Second, the case has already drawn comparisons to recent American incidents in which online feuds escalated into real-world violence — the Florida influencer shot outside a Miami restaurant in 2024, the Texas streamer stabbed at an ATM last summer. Legal analysts in the United States say the pattern is increasingly familiar: public rivalries, monetized in likes and views, that eventually demand flesh-and-blood resolution.

"Social-media conflict doesn't stay inside the phone forever," said former federal prosecutor Lisa McCray, who now consults on digital-age violent crime cases. "When two people build businesses on being seen — being seen together in public, seen at the same events, seen feuding with each other — the line between a DM argument and a physical altercation gets dangerously thin. This case is a tragic example of what happens when that line finally breaks."

Critical Condition And A Family In Waiting

Zakrzewska's family flew from Poland to London over the weekend and has maintained a round-the-clock vigil at the hospital. In a brief statement released through a family friend, her mother asked for "prayers from all of Klaudia's friends around the world" and said doctors had described her daughter's condition as "stable but extremely fragile."

Carrington, meanwhile, will be transported to a women's remand facility to await her next hearing. Under British law, attempted murder carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. If the charge progresses to trial and results in conviction, she would become one of the most high-profile influencer defendants in recent U.K. criminal history.

What Happens Next

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the Serious Collision Investigation Unit has taken the lead on the physical evidence — CCTV from at least four nearby businesses, phone footage from roughly a dozen bystanders, and blood-alcohol test results from Carrington taken at the scene. Prosecutors will formally present the file to the Old Bailey next month. In the meantime, both influencers' Instagram accounts remain frozen, with comments disabled and no new posts since Saturday. Their followers, for now, are left to scroll through older photos and wait for the next update from a hospital bed and a jail cell, respectively.

For the British tabloid press — and for the American outlets that have picked up the wire — this is a story that will not fade quickly. It sits at the intersection of celebrity, social media, violent crime and the uneasy modern question of what, exactly, all those followers and likes are actually worth when the metal meets the flesh on a Soho street at four in the morning.
