WASHINGTON — Buried inside the Pentagon's newly released sixth tranche of UFO records are documents that go considerably further than reports of mysterious lights in the sky.

One of the most remarkable is identified as DOW-UAP-D138: “Warp Drive, Dark Energy, and the Manipulation of Extra Dimensions.”

The document was produced under the Defense Intelligence Agency-linked Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, or AAWSAP, and is dated April 2, 2010.

Its subject is extraordinary.

The study examines whether theoretical physics could permit an advanced technology to manipulate extra dimensions and thereby alter the expansion of local spacetime.

According to the newly released description, the underlying hypothesis is that if dark energy originates from vacuum effects associated with extra dimensions, technology capable of manipulating those dimensions might theoretically alter spacetime sufficiently to create what physicists describe as a warp bubble. Although the Pentagon expressly warns that these Defense Intelligence Reference Documents are reference and synthesis products rather than proof that the technologies discussed actually exist.

Indeed, the warp-drive study acknowledges that its central assumptions—including whether extra dimensions can be physically manipulated on macroscopic scales—remain unverified and that there is no known engineering path to constructing such a propulsion system.

Although - 16 years have passed since the April 2010 report. What was theoretical, technologically impossible or experimentally unverified then should not automatically be assumed to remain so today. Sixteen years of advances in quantum physics, materials science, computing and aerospace technology raise an important question: What experiments followed, and what does the government know today that it did not know in 2010?

Nevertheless, the question itself is striking: U.S. defense-funded researchers were formally examining whether access to dimensions beyond the familiar three spatial dimensions could someday produce radically different methods of transportation.

And DOW-UAP-D138 was not alone.

Another document, DOW-UAP-D139, carries the title ‘Traversable Wormholes, Stargates, and Negative Energy.’

The April 2010 paper explores whether general relativity theoretically permits wormholes—shortcuts connecting otherwise distant regions of spacetime—and what would be necessary to keep such structures open long enough for something to pass through them.

The study examines exotic negative-energy matter as a possible requirement for stabilizing a wormhole.

It also discusses a flat-throated theoretical configuration described as a stargate.

The document itself identifies an enormous problem: although microscopic negative-energy effects have been observed in quantum physics, scientists have no known method for creating and controlling the extraordinary quantities that a macroscopic traversable wormhole would apparently require.

But when these documents are read alongside actual unresolved UAP cases contained in the same release, an interesting distinction emerges.

The Pentagon was examining two separate questions.

One was observational: What are military personnel and sensors detecting?

The other was theoretical: What physics might permit radically advanced aerospace performance?

Release 06 contains examples of both.

One newly released 2022 Middle East case consists of military electro-optical and infrared sensor recordings submitted by U.S. Central Command to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office.

The associated mission report describes the unidentified phenomenon as traveling at varying speeds between approximately 80 and 180 mph. One video shows an object being repeatedly tracked as sensors switch between electro-optical and infrared modes.

A second recording from the same case is even more interesting.

The Pentagon nevertheless cautions that its descriptions should not be interpreted as an analytical conclusion about what the objects actually were.

Another Release 06 case comes not from the military but from local law enforcement in Colorado.

The October 2023 record, identified as LLE-UAP-D001, contains a transcript of a police officer narrating a UAP observation while recording the object on video. Portions were removed to protect the officer's identity and law-enforcement activities.

An independent examination of the released transcript reports the officer saying that radar had been checked and showed no aircraft in the area, while describing the object as remaining apparently stationary for roughly 15 minutesbefore appearing to move closer.

Then there is Tremonton.

Release 06 contains the Project Blue Book photographic investigation of the famous July 1952 Utah film showing multiple bright objects moving through the sky.

Air Force investigators explored whether the objects could have been unusual ‘pillow balloons.’ Specialists reviewing the footage generally thought balloons were plausible, although one General Mills representative reportedly considered the objects unusually bright and apparently too maneuverable. Investigators were unable to identify a corresponding balloon release, and later Air Force assessments favored birds as the explanation.

Perhaps the strangest category of AAWSAP research released Friday was a technical study concerning reported injuries associated with anomalous aerospace encounters.

The study reviewed three previously healthy individuals who reportedly experienced an anomalous aerospace-related event followed by physical symptoms including skin heating or redness and hair loss. One reportedly displayed symptoms described as radiation illness and later signs characterized as malignant transformations.

The researchers compared those cases with known radiofrequency injuries and wrote that enough incidents had been reported to support a hypothesis that some advanced systems may already have been deployed while remaining outside full U.S. understanding.

The document does not identify who—or what—would have operated such systems.

And that may be the most consequential point emerging from Release 06.

There is no disclosed alien body, extraterrestrial spacecraft, recovered non-human material or communication with a non-human intelligence in this tranche.

But the files demonstrate something historically important in their own right.

Inside a U.S. defense aerospace program, researchers were seriously examining warp propulsion, antigravity, negative mass, traversable wormholes and even the manipulation of extra dimensions while the government continued accumulating reports of objects it could not definitively identify.

That does not bridge the evidentiary gap between unidentified phenomena and non-human intelligence.

It does, however, show that behind classified doors the government's scientific inquiry extended far beyond asking whether an unidentified object was simply an airplane, balloon or drone.

Researchers were also asking a considerably bigger question:

If something truly possessed technology radically beyond conventional aerospace engineering, what kind of physics could make it possible?

Release 06 shows that, at least theoretically, extra dimensions were among the possibilities they studied.
