The experts forecast a modest 1% rise in year-over-year Black Friday sales. But online spending rose 2.3% thanks to consumers holding out for discounts until the traditionally big shopping days. It seemed consumers were resisting deals until Thanksgiving.

 Adobe Analytics reported that consumers sidestepped the rising prices, due to high inflation, to grab steep discounts on everything from tech gadgets to children’s toys.

Adobe measures e-commerce by reviewing website transactions at 85% of the top 100 internet retailers in the U.S.

Adobe anticipates that Cyber Monday will be the year’s biggest online shopping day, driving $11.2 billion in sales.
