2020 Democrat Mike Bloomberg continues to come under fire for his comments on various matters. Thus far, the former mayor turned presidential candidate has taken heat for saying that he can teach "anyone" to work as a farmer and alleging that black and Latino men are incapable of proper workplace behavior.

Additional points of controversy surrounding Bloomberg include his nondisclosure agreements against female employees (he has since agreed to release these women from their NDAs) and past support for stop-and-frisk.

Now, Bloomberg is under fire for his remarks about gun owners during tonight's CNN town hall.

It's important to note that the former mayor has a pattern of criticizing Americans who value the Second Amendment. As many people are aware, Bloomberg previously stated that folks who keep guns in their homes are "stupid."

A Closer Look at Bloomberg's Latest Comments About Gun Owners

According to Mike Bloomberg, people in this country shouldn't be allowed to have guns in their homes. At tonight's town hall, the controversial presidential candidate stated that gun ownership makes individuals "22 times more likely" to die because of a firearm.

During this time, Bloomberg declined to cite which source confirms his claim; however, he did make sure to tell Americans what they want.

In the former mayor's own words:

"You don’t want to have guns. [...] There’s domestic violence, there’s children playing, there’s accidents."

Despite Bloomberg's strong stance against everyday Americans having guns, he remains regularly surrounded by armed bodyguards.

Since Bloomberg's time as a presidential candidate, he's faced considerable amounts of backlash for his manner of campaign funding. Americans on both the left and the right regularly hit the former mayor for attempting to buy the 2020 election. This censure comes as Bloomberg dumps hundreds of millions of dollars into ads to boost his campaign.

The 2020 Democrat's decision to self-fund his candidacy is only the tip of the iceberg though. In recent weeks, Americans learned of Bloomberg's decision to pay online influencers to boost his campaign. Shortly thereafter, Twitter announced their move to suspend spam accounts which promoted the same links and hashtags in support of Bloomberg's candidacy.
