The tragic case of Celeste Rivas continues to reveal disturbing details about her home life before she ran away. Newly obtained police records show Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were called to her family’s Lake Elsinore, California home 11 times between February 2024 and April 2025.

Rivas was the teen whose body was found in the Tesla of D4vd aka David, her alleged boyfriend.

Deputies Called Multiple Times in a Single Day

According to police records, deputies were dispatched to Rivas’ home repeatedly, including three separate visits on March 19, 2024. That date marked the second time Celeste had run away from home in 2024. 

Surveillance footage from a nearby liquor store that day shows Celeste running down the street before disappearing out of frame. A car pulls out moments later, but it remains unclear if she entered the vehicle.

Two of the calls that day were to her home, while the third was to the liquor store where her sister had gone to check the footage.

Pattern of “Minor Crime Investigations”

Most of the police calls were logged as “minor crime investigations”, with one noted as a report of “suspicious circumstances.” Officers took reports in four cases and scheduled follow-ups for three others, though the outcomes of many incidents remain unclear.

Notably, on April 5, 2024 at 9:29 PM, deputies responded to the home just half an hour after her family reported her missing at 9 PM, according to her missing-persons flyer.

 Family Tensions and Witness Accounts

Beyond police involvement, friends of Celeste described a troubled household. An ex-boyfriend from middle school told TMZ that Celeste frequently joked about running away before she actually did. He also claimed that her mother was not kind to her, reinforcing the narrative of a strained and unstable home life.

Discovery of Celeste Rivas Body

Months later, the investigation took a darker turn when Celeste’s dismembered and decomposed body was discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4vd. Police believe she had been dead for several weeks before being found on September 8, 2025.

LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams told PEOPLE that investigators cannot confirm what was seized when electronics were removed from a Hollywood Hills residence linked to D4vd. He added it was “very likely” Rivas had been dead for weeks before her body was discovered.

Despite the horrific discovery, Williams said investigators “don’t know for sure if anyone has any criminal culpability for her death beyond the concealment of her dead body.” D4vd has not been charged in connection with the case, though his management team spoke out after the discovery.

As the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner continues to investigate her cause and manner of death, Celeste’s case has raised further questions about warning signs missed during her difficult home life and repeated police involvement.
