Chaos unfolded at the beloved Texas State Fair on Saturday night when the suspected gunman opened fire, injuring three people and prompting the evacuation of the fairgrounds.

The Dallas Police Department identified the suspect as 22-year-old Cameron Turner, who fled the scene but was later apprehended. Police were also able to recover shell casings and 2 handguns, one of which was believed used in the incident.
Turner currently faces 3 charges of aggravated assault.
The three victims, two men, and a woman, are expected to make a full recovery, with one of them identified as an innocent bystander, according to FOX 4 in Dallas. The incident unfolded near the fair’s bustling food court, around 8 p.m., where terrified fairgoers scrambled for safety.

According to the arrest warrant documents Turner claimed, “he was attempting to protect his family when he was approached by a group of big males.” He told officers he then “went into survival mode and felt threatened by the (man) so he shot.”
