The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) delivered a whistleblower complaint to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday.

The whistleblower complaint, which fueled an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, was about his telephone conversation with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he requested a favor to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son.

The White House also released a transcript of the call between Trump and Zelensky earlier on Wednesday.

According to CNBC, the DNI hand delivered the whistleblower complaint to a secure facility at the Capitol Building. A number of lawmakers including the leaders and members of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees reviewed it.

Lawmakers find the whistleblower complaint “disturbing”

After reviewing the whistleblower complaint, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said, “I want to thank the whistleblower for coming forward. I found the allegations deeply disturbing and very credible. I can understand why the inspector general found them credible.”
