Drivers ultimately appreciate the reliability of this vehicle, along with its safety features, affordability, and resale value. Because Honda’s models greatly vary, the brand is quite flexible and marketable to a wide array of consumers.

Despite this documented popularity, Honda isn’t immune to issues that sometimes arise with cars. This week, Americans learned the automobile company is now recalling hundreds of thousands of its vehicles.

What’s going on?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) put out a notice, explaining the Honda vehicles in question hit a snag with their airbags. Apparently, these safety devices are prone to going off at the wrong times, due to the weight sensors on front passenger seats.

Needless to say, this poses a serious threat to the well-being of anyone in the car. Airbags that improperly deploy can obstruct drivers’ sight of the road ahead, increase the likelihood of auto accidents, and engender any number of other problems.
