The victims were hiking through Indiana's Delphi Historic Trails in February 2017 when they were killed. It took 5 years for an arrest to be made.

Libby's iPhone contained a 43-second video that led investigators to Allen. The phone was found under her body in 2017.

The girl's bodies were discovered and the case puzzled police for years - until a bullet found at the bloody crime scene linked Allen to the slayings in 2022.

Delphi Murders Photos Leaked

Kevin Greenlee and journalist Aine Cain, known for their podcast "The Murder Sheet," claimed to have received disturbing photographs of the crime scene from an anonymous source. Appalled by the nature of the leaked content, they promptly contacted law enforcement authorities.

 Allen's defense lawyers, Andrew Baldwin and Bradley Rozzi, then abruptly quit after the leaked images were allegedly leaked by a member of their firm. 

The leaked images controversy forced Judge, Fran Gull, to reschedule the trial and address what she described as "other matters that have recently arisen."

The prime suspect in these crimes, 50-year-old Richard Allen, is now at the center of shocking allegations made by his former defense attorneys. 

In a filing by the defense, the claim is that German and Williams were "ritualistically sacrificed" by members of a pagan Norse religion known as "Odinism" and a white nationalist group associated with it.

Defense Claims Odinism 

The shocking claims made by Allen's former defense attorneys are captured in a more than 130-page filing that seeks to discredit the evidence collected during the search of Allen's home before his arrest. 

They contend that crucial information was omitted from the search warrant application, specifically the connection to Odinism, a belief system rooted in pagan Norse religion and sometimes associated with white nationalist groups.

The defense's extensive filing questions the validity of the search warrant and requests that Allen be transferred to a different facility.

According to the defense team, a report by the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit suggests that the individuals responsible for the murders were involved in Nordic beliefs.

As a result of the tumultuous events, Richard Allen was returned to the Westville Correctional Facility. 

He will now have to be provided with new attorneys to represent him in court.

The trial, originally scheduled for January 8, 2024, will inevitably face further delays, leaving the victims' families anxious for resolution.

As the case unfolds, the Delphi Murders continue to reveal shocking and sinister dimensions, casting a long shadow over the families who seek justice for  Libby and Abby.
