Disney Advised by Shareholder to Steer Clear of Political Activism

Within the past several years, it’s become more common for large companies to involve themselves in politics.

More often than not, when companies get political, their activism leans to the left of center. Naturally, this tends to alienate people who are not leftists.

Pushback against big businesses taking sides in politics has especially increased as partisan divides deepen in the United States.

One of the companies known for its left-wing politics is none other than Disney.

Disney has come out against Florida for passing a new bill regarding kids’ education; this bill bars young children from receiving lessons about the politics of gender and sex in classrooms.

In the wake of controversy over this, Disney is now being urged by one of its shareholders to steer clear from making public proclamations about politics.

Disney shareholder Ray Keating recently told Fox News that he thinks Disney is doing more harm than good by involving itself in contentious politics.
