For years, the question has haunted hard techno forums, Reddit threads, and packed festival floors from Berlin to Las Vegas: who is Holy Priest?

The mystery surrounding his identity has created massive global hype. The masked figure behind the @holypriest Instagram account has amassed over one million followers, built a devoted global fanbase, and cultivated one of electronic music's most tantalizing personas — all while hiding behind a cross-emblazoned white mask. His Instagram bio cheekily describes him as "YOUR FAKEST DJ" — a line that has fueled years of speculation, controversy, and fierce debate among fans and critics alike.

Today, for the first time, USA Herald will reveal the man behind the mask.

The Source

Our investigation began with a licensed tip from a source who provided documentation confirming that Holy Priest is Daniel Schweitzer, a German DJ and producer born in 1992. The source, whose identity we are protecting, provided materials that were legally licensed for publication. What follows is an account of how independent digital evidence corroborates that identification at every turn.

Thirteen years ago — long before the Holy Priest persona was even conceived — a Mixcloud account under the handle danielschweitzer92 was quietly active, cataloguing the early DJ career of a young German music enthusiast. The "92" suffix aligns precisely with our source's confirmed birth year for Daniel Schweitzer. Although the Holy Priest persona officially launched in 2020, his DJ career began years earlier, with the artist having experimented with styles over a long period before discovering his signature sound. That timeline fits neatly with a Mixcloud profile predating the masked character by over a decade, preserved at mixcloud.com/danielschweitzer92 — a digital breadcrumb left behind before the anonymity machine was constructed.

The Social Graph

Investigative journalism lives and dies by corroboration, and here the social media trail is striking on multiple levels.

Kevin Lorenz — who operates the Instagram account @dallas_pryce and is also active on Mixcloud — appears in Holy Priest's own follower list. Screenshots taken May 8, 2026, show @holypriest's followers panel listing Kevin Lorenz among them. That Holy Priest, with 1.2 million followers, would follow back a small personal account is notable on its own. That this same person is connected to the danielschweitzer92 Mixcloud account tightens the circle considerably.

Then there is David Schweitzer — @schweitzer.official on Instagram. His public bio identifies him as a DJ and producer, a member of the @sickandsound collective, and the owner of @Traubenschmiede. Our screenshots confirm that when David's "Following" list is searched for the term "holy," the account @holypriest appears immediately.

But new evidence gathered by USA Herald today adds a critical new layer. A Facebook post dated May 6, 2022, from an account under the name "Schweitzer", shows a DJ performance video shared directly to the Sick & Sound Eternal Techno Facebook page — the very organisation that manages Holy Priest. This is not a passive connection. This is the Schweitzer name actively posting content to Holy Priest's own management company's platform, more than a year before Holy Priest's public profile exploded.

And it doesn't stop there. A screenshot of Holy Priest's own Instagram account — now at 1.2 million followers — shows his "Following" list searched for "sickandsound," with the @sickandsound account appearing as a result. Holy Priest follows his own management company on Instagram. That is entirely expected. What makes it significant in this investigation is the full picture it completes: Daniel Schweitzer is confirmed as Holy Priest by our licensed source; the danielschweitzer92 Mixcloud account ties the name to a pre-existing DJ identity; David Schweitzer follows Holy Priest on Instagram and shares the family name; and "Schweitzer" is actively posting DJ performance footage to the Sick & Sound page — the same management company Holy Priest himself follows and is booked through.

Every node in this network points to the same name.

Oberhausen: The Studio That Anchors It All

One of the most important geographic clues Holy Priest himself has inadvertently provided comes from a 2023 interview with Radio Intense. Asked where in the world he was at that moment, he replied that he was in Oberhausen, Germany, at the Sick & Sound Studios, where he spends most of his time producing music. 

Sick & Sound is a community for music lovers, artists, and industry professionals, offering DJ and production school, artist and booking management, and a music label. The company is registered in Oberhausen, Germany, and its managing director is Florian Eimers. Holy Priest's own Instagram lists his booking contact as [email protected], and he is managed by Simon Bay and Florian Eimers. The Schweitzer name now appears on both sides of that management relationship — as the managed artist and as someone actively contributing content to the same organisation's social media.

From Pandemic Project to Global Phenomenon

When Covid-19 hit in 2020, he started the Holy Priest project. His visual identity evolved over time — he started with a full costume, then moved to a mask, and eventually upgraded to his current signature mask. 

He first began posting performances on TikTok in 2022 with a track called "Atomic Bomb." His first EP came out in 2024, called Shitty Kicks. One of his most popular TikTok videos has earned over 20 million views. On his holypriest_music TikTok account, he has garnered over 1.7 million followers.

The music catalogue grew rapidly. His discography includes "Atomic Bomb," "No Balance" (with Manji), "Top Line" (with Dimitri K), "Bass Powah" (with Krowdexx), "GO HARD" (with D-Sturb), "Break Your Neck," "Wanna Play?" (with ElMefti), and "Holy Atlantis" (with Netherworld). His 2025 remix of "Vielleicht Vielleicht" with elMefti has racked up tens of millions of streams on Spotify since its April 2025 release, and "No Balance" has surpassed 28 million streams.

He built his own label, FXCK, shaping the scene with an uncompromising sound built around hard kick drums, distorted basslines, and dark, almost ritualistic soundscapes.

The festival circuit followed. Holy Priest has performed at Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Parookaville, and Les Ardentes. EDC Las Vegas 2026 features Holy Priest alongside Charlotte de Witte, I Hate Models, Nico Moreno, and Solomun.

The "Fakest DJ" Controversy — And His Response

The "YOUR FAKEST DJ" tagline was not born in a vacuum. European digital magazine LoudLife shared videos of Holy Priest's performance, accusing him of performing a pre-recorded set, comparing him to a Michelin-star chef who reheats pre-made food, calling it "a betrayal of trust."

The caption assumed the allegation to be true, but the video actually showed two different tracks on two different channels, with one ending and another beginning — and some performative knob-twisting visible on top.

Holy Priest responded publicly. He stated clearly that he has never played a pre-recorded set and continues to mix live during his performances. On the "fake knobbing" criticism, he reframed it as a subconscious extension of mental preparation — comparing it to a boxer moving lightly before the bell rings. He signed off his response as "Your fakest DJ," leaning into the irony to signal that his priority is the live connection with fans over critics who don't understand the nuances of the craft.

German outlet DJ Mag noted that the circulating videos may generate suspicion, but solid proof that Holy Priest performs complete sets on playback cannot be derived from them.
