In a significant law enforcement action targeting transnational criminal organizations, federal prosecutors have announced a sweeping indictment involving eleven foreign nationals. The group faces serious allegations related to a multi-state criminal enterprise that involved the sex trafficking of a minor and an adult woman, as well as widespread distribution of illegal narcotics and firearm trafficking.

The investigation, which spanned across four states, has resulted in the apprehension of ten individuals during a coordinated series of operations conducted on Tuesday. According to the Department of Justice, authorities are still searching for one remaining suspect who is currently at large.

The federal indictment, which contains thirty counts and was unsealed on Tuesday after being returned on June 11, paints a grim picture of a criminal network operating in the United States. While the legal proceedings are still in their early stages, the allegations suggest that the defendants engaged in a dangerous pattern of criminal behavior that crossed state lines.

The Scope of the Criminal Allegations

The indictment alleges that the operation was not limited to a single location but instead utilized a mobile network to facilitate illegal activities. Prosecutors claim that members of this group conspired between July and August 2025 to traffic a minor and an adult woman for the purpose of commercial sex.

Court documents further allege that the defendants orchestrated online commercial sex advertisements, particularly within the central Ohio region, to promote their illicit activities. Beyond the human trafficking charges, the group is accused of dealing ecstasy and moving firearms illegally. The indictment notes that at least nine firearms were involved in the scheme, with some defendants facing additional charges for possessing weapons while unlawfully present in the United States.

Discrepancies in the Indictment Details

A point of confusion has emerged regarding the official documentation released by the Justice Department. In the initial announcement regarding the case, there appeared to be conflicting references regarding the age of the minor victim. Some sections of the release described the victim as seventeen years old, while a direct quote from the United States Attorney cited the victim as fourteen years old.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Department of Justice for clarification on this matter. The discrepancy remains a subject of public interest as the case moves forward, and updates are expected as federal authorities clarify the specific details of the victim profile.

Law Enforcement Response

The charges are the result of a rigorous investigation spearheaded by a Homeland Security Task Force. Officials have expressed their resolve to dismantle organizations that exploit vulnerable individuals and introduce violence into local communities.

U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II emphasized the severity of the alleged crimes during his announcement. He stated that ten of the defendants are currently in this country illegally and noted that the group participated in a wide range of illicit activities, from drug distribution to human trafficking. He reiterated that his office has no tolerance for such criminal behavior and intends to prosecute those involved to the fullest extent permitted by the law.

Echoing these sentiments, FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Jason Cromartie highlighted the focus on community safety. He affirmed that the agency remains committed to removing narcotics, firearms, and violent criminals from the streets. Acting Homeland Security Investigations Detroit Special Agent in Charge Jared Murphey added that the indictment stands as proof of the task force commitment to protecting citizens from transnational organizations that prey upon vulnerable individuals.

The Defendants and Regional Impact

The crackdown involved arrests across Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida. The defendants, primarily Venezuelan and Colombian nationals, face a long road of legal challenges. The individuals charged in the case include:

Ohio-based defendants:

  • Jean Pierre Alejandro Guillen Salcedo, 30, of Hilliard (Venezuelan national)

  • Taidin Adreina Ferrer Guillen, 34, of Hilliard (Venezuelan national)

  • Pedro Angel Colls-Flores, 34, of Columbus (Venezuelan national)

  • Alismar Daniela Contreras-Arevalo, 20, of Columbus (Venezuelan national)

  • Briyi Daniela Ordonez-Iter, 21, of Hilliard (Colombian national)

  • Julian David Patino Pena, 33, of Columbus (Colombian national)

Tennessee-based defendants:

  • John Alexandre Fajardo-Ulzcategui, 27, of Smyrna (Venezuelan national)

  • Jose Ruben Sanchez-Pena, 34, of Smyrna (Venezuelan national)

Other locations:

  • Keivar Elian Guillen Salcedo, 26, of Charlotte, North Carolina (Venezuelan national)

  • Therry Brayant Leon Gavida, 34, of Jacksonville, Florida (Venezuelan national)

  • Dervin Alejandro Colmenares Quintero, 29 (Venezuelan national, listed as residing in Mexico)

Legal Context and Future Proceedings

This case is being prosecuted as part of a specialized initiative established under Executive Order 14159, which is titled Protecting the American People Against Invasion. This initiative is designed specifically to target foreign gangs, human trafficking networks, and transnational criminal organizations operating within the borders of the United States.

It is important to note that an indictment serves only as an allegation at this stage of the judicial process. All individuals named in the indictment are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law. As the case proceeds, the focus will shift to the courtroom, where prosecutors will be required to present evidence to support these serious accusations against the eleven defendants.
