Haley to Join DeSantis For January Debate in Iowa

The Iowa caucuses are in one month. Monday, January 15 is when Iowa voters will head to the polls and decide which GOP candidate gets key delegates that will help them secure the party’s nomination.

Hopefuls Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and others each aim to walk away with delegates. Though the Florida governor objectively has an edge in Iowa, following last month’s endorsement from Gov. Kim Reynolds. The popular Republican governor made it clear she’ll be regularly on the campaign trail, urging voters in her state to get behind DeSantis.

On Wednesday, January 10, CNN will host a debate in Iowa, giving GOP competitors one of their last chances to reach voters ahead of the caucuses. While DeSantis was the first candidate to confirm he’d attend the debate, he’s since been joined by Haley.

What to know about January’s debate in Iowa

The event will take place at Drake University, with DeSantis and Haley as the only assured attendees so far.

All GOP contenders who wish to be on the debate stage next month must garner at least 10% support in three Iowa polls or national polls. One of these polls must also consist of likely GOP caucus voters in the state.
