Joaquin Elias Altenberg is currently facing trial in an alleged fraud case.

Timing is bad for Altenberg, whom recently had a motion denied to delay his upcoming fraud trial.   According to public records, the court opined “The request for an extension is denied.   This case has dragged on for too long, and there has been too much questionable behavior by the defendants to warrant further delay.”

Also accused of fraud is the wife of Joaquin, Alison Altenberg.   Alison is the daughter of the esteemed professor Leonard E. Weisman, a West Point graduate whom is currently a Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine.

The fraud case stems from an investment made by HOMF II in a fund to finance renewable energy development projects. These projects were to be selected by the Fund’s managing member, Joaquin Altenberg (Alison’s husband).    Altenberg graduated from Harvard Business School and is an experienced business operator.
