New York Times Deems American Flag as “Political”

The 4th of July is a holiday that many Americans look forward to. The celebration of the nation’s independence is something that Americans rally around and acknowledge, especially on July 4th.

Independence Day is here. Across the nation, people will be spending time with loved ones, attending barbeques, and otherwise going out. Some Americans will attend fireworks shows and go to the beaches, while others celebrate the 4th in different ways.

On Independence Day weekend (and July 4th, especially), it is not uncommon for Americans to display the U.S. flag. However, the New York Times is now taking some heat for alleging that displaying the American flag is inherently “political.”

For quite some time, it’s been well-established that the New York Times is a left-leaning publication. However, yesterday afternoon, the Times raised some eyebrows with a tweet stating that displays of the U.S. flag serve as “clues” towards the political leanings of an individual.
