What the Jury Is Hearing

  • Lakeeta “Keeta” Vaccaro Hill testified that Tyreek Hill physically abused her during their 18-month marriage, allegations Hill denies.
  • Hill acknowledged pushing Vaccaro into a wall during one confrontation and admitted making a threat about having people hurt her, but denied committing the assaults she alleges. wplg
  • No criminal charges were filed over the eight alleged incidents. This is a civil case, where Vaccaro must prove her claims by the greater weight of the evidence. Justice Is A Process

MIAMI — The Tyreek Hill trial is quickly becoming something more complicated than a celebrity divorce dispute.

A Miami-Dade jury is being asked to decide what happened inside an 18-month marriage where many of the most serious allegations allegedly occurred behind closed doors — with little photographic evidence, no criminal prosecution and sharply conflicting accounts from the two people who were there.

Lakeeta “Keeta” Vaccaro Hill testified this week that Hill became physically violent during arguments, including disputes over a postnuptial agreement she says he began pushing shortly after their November 2023 wedding.

Vaccaro alleges Hill grabbed her jewelry, pushed her onto a bed, put his hands around her neck and committed other physical assaults during eight separate incidents between January 2024 and April 2025. Her lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Her attorney, Paul Schwiep, framed the case for jurors in blunt terms, telling them Hill would become violent when he did not get his way and then apologize afterward. Schwiep also acknowledged a central evidentiary problem — many of the alleged encounters were not photographed or independently witnessed.

That absence of contemporaneous proof has become a major part of Hill’s defense.

Attorney Christi Bright told jurors that law enforcement officers from Davie, Orlando and Sunrise responded to marital disputes but did not find injuries that resulted in Hill's arrest. She also pointed out that Vaccaro’s initial divorce filing did not contain domestic-violence allegations, arguing that the accusations emerged later in the litigation.

But the evidentiary picture became more complicated when Hill himself took the stand Thursday.

Hill acknowledged pushing Vaccaro into a wall hard enough to leave a hole, although he disputed the broader characterization of the confrontation. He also testified that he was “deeply ashamed” of telling Vaccaro he was capable of getting people to hurt her. At the same time, he denied hitting, scratching, spitting on her, pulling out her hair or punching toward her stomach while she was pregnant. wplg

That distinction could matter.

Jurors do not have to decide whether prosecutors proved a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Nobody is being criminally prosecuted in this courtroom. Vaccaro is pursuing civil assault-and-battery claims and must prove them under Florida’s lower civil evidentiary standard — the greater weight of the evidence. Justice Is A Process

The case is Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill v. Tyreek Dshaun Hill, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Case No. 2025-007449-FC-04. Court records show the domestic-relations case was filed April 8, 2025, and remains open. Miami-Dade Clerk of the Courts

The jury has also been shown baby-monitor video from an April 2025 confrontation inside the couple’s home. Because the recording involves the couple’s infant child, media organizations were restricted from rebroadcasting portions of it. wplg

Away from the courtroom, the timing could carry professional consequences.

Hill, 32, is currently an NFL free agent after being released by the Miami Dolphins following his serious 2025 knee injury. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said earlier this week that Hill was discussing a possible return with multiple teams and could sign soon.

Any NFL decision would be separate from the civil jury's verdict.

For jurors, the immediate question is narrower and harder: whether Vaccaro’s testimony, corroborating circumstances and available recordings prove the alleged assaults despite the gaps emphasized by Hill’s lawyers — or whether those gaps create enough doubt about what actually happened inside the marriage.
