Paul McCartney Got Back Tour

At 83, the ex-Beatle is proving that age is no match for rock and roll. The iconic musician has resumed his Paul McCartney Got Back Tour in North America, performing in cities from Palm Springs in September to Chicago in November 2025.

The show features no opening act — just McCartney and his long-time bandmates: Wix Wickens on keyboards, Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, Rusty Anderson on guitar, and the Hot City Horns adding brass brilliance.

“It’s a marathon worthy of his Mount Rushmorian career,” wrote one reviewer, “covering every era — Beatles, Wings, and solo — with humor, heart, and humility.”

The 83-year-old Beatles legend wows fans on his “Got Back Tour” with a career-spanning setlist and timeless message of love.

McCartney's setlist on the tour includes 35 songs from throughout his and The Beatles' catalog.

A Setlist Spanning Six Decades

Each performance of the Got Back Tour has thrilled audiences with a 35-plus-song setlist stretching across McCartney’s 60-year catalog. From early Beatles tracks to Wings hits and solo favorites, fans experience a masterclass in music history.

The show opens with “Help!,” a Beatles classic performed in full live for the first time since 1965. Other highlights include “Get Back,” “Helter Skelter,” “Band on the Run,” and the emotional “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude,” which still elicit goosebumps.

During “Now and Then,” the 2023 “final Beatles recording,” McCartney performs alongside video footage of John Lennon from Peter Jackson’s Get Back documentary. “Thank you, John, for writing that lovely song,” McCartney told the crowd, prompting tears from fans.

He also honors George Harrison with a ukulele rendition of “Something” and dedicates “My Valentine” to his wife Nancy Shevell, accompanied by a black-and-white video featuring Johnny Depp signing the lyrics.

The Paul McCartney Got Back Tour: A Legendary Return

McCartney’s Minneapolis concert was particularly nostalgic, marking 60 years since his first performance in the Twin Cities with The Beatles at the old Met Stadium. “How many artists can say they’ve played the same town for six decades and still draw 50,000 people?” one reviewer asked.

His voice, though weathered, carries the weight of history. “Like Dylan and Simon, McCartney’s voice has lost its range,” noted a critic, “but the songs — and his charm — do all the talking.”

The night’s energy soared with “Live and Let Die,” complete with pyrotechnics, before easing into crowd sing-alongs for “Hey Jude.” Keyboardist Wix Wickens even paid subtle homage to Prince, flashing his iconic glyph on screen during the performance — a quiet nod to McCartney’s 2016 dedication to the Minneapolis legend.

Unity and Love A Lifetime of Memories and Music

True to Beatles spirit, McCartney used the stage to remind audiences of music’s power to unite. Before performing “Blackbird,” he recalled how The Beatles refused to play segregated shows in Jacksonville in 1964: “We told the promoter, people sit together — not apart.”

Ending the night, McCartney reaffirmed his timeless message: “All you need is love.” As tens of thousands of fans sang “Na-na-na-na, hey Jude” in unison, it felt less like a concert and more like a global reunion.

Looking Ahead on the Paul McCartney Got Back Tour

The Paul McCartney Got Back tour includes four stadium dates and a dozen arena stops across the U.S., culminating in Chicago in November 2025. Fans can follow tour updates and buy tickets through Paul McCartney’s official website and Live Nation.

Despite some sound challenges, the energy remains unmatched. As one fan wrote on X, “At 83, Paul McCartney just played for nearly three hours — and every note still mattered.”
