Quantinuum has officially catapulted into tech’s rarefied air, announcing Thursday that it hit a $10 billion pre-money valuation after securing a massive $600 million equity raise spearheaded by Honeywell. The funding marks one of the most significant bets yet on the quantum computing revolution.

Building Toward Helios, Quantum’s Next Titan

The capital injection will fuel Quantinuum’s most ambitious leap to date: the launch of Helios, a “next-generation” quantum system slated for release later this year. Company leaders said the money accelerates their roadmap to achieve quantum computing at scale, a milestone long seen as the holy grail of the field.

“Quantinuum continues to meet and exceed our stated objectives — strategically, technically and commercially,” said Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur, who reaffirmed the conglomerate’s confidence in the firm’s ability to lead the global quantum race.

Global Footprint, Expanding Partnerships

Headquartered in Colorado with a European base in Cambridge, U.K., Quantinuum is already selling hardware aimed at bringing quantum into the commercial mainstream. The company has formed partnerships with Nvidia, SoftBank, Infineon, and Riken, while extending its global reach into New Mexico, Qatar, and Singapore.

The firm aims to weave quantum into the future of artificial intelligence, positioning itself as a cornerstone of innovation across industries.

Star Investors Back the Quantum Bet

The new round drew heavyweight investors alongside Honeywell, including Quanta Computer, NVentures, QED Investors, MESH, and Korea Investment Partners. They joined existing backers such as JPMorgan Chase, Mitsui, Amgen, Cambridge Quantum Holdings, and Serendipity Capital.

“We are proud to partner with investors who share deep conviction in our vision for the future of quantum and AI,” said Quantinuum CEO Rajeeb Hazra, adding that the influx of capital strengthens not just the company, but “the entire quantum ecosystem.”

Legal Minds Behind the Mega-Deal

Advising Quantinuum was Freshfields LLP, with a heavyweight team spanning mergers and acquisitions, tax, employee benefits, compliance, and regulatory issues.
