A disturbing investigation in St. Louis County has culminated in serious criminal charges against a local couple, revealing a years-long pattern of abuse and neglect that has left the community in shock. Authorities recently took 37-year-old Marissa Thomas and her 35-year-old boyfriend, Christopher Stewart, into custody following an extensive investigation into allegations of sexual assault and endangerment involving multiple children.

The gravity of the situation became apparent when officers arrived at the couple's residence on Blue Mountain Drive to execute a search warrant. The warrant was initiated after a report was filed by the Missouri Children's Division. Upon entering the home, investigators were met with deplorable living conditions, including the presence of rodent and animal feces, exposed insulation, and various other hazardous issues that prompted immediate concerns about the welfare of any minors residing in the property.

A Detailed Pattern of Alleged Abuse

As law enforcement agents began interviewing the children who lived in the home, as well as those who visited or associated with the residents, a harrowing picture of systemic abuse began to emerge. According to official charging documents, the victims provided accounts of sexual violence and exposure that spanned a significant period.

One victim, who is under the age of 12, reported to police that she had been repeatedly raped by Stewart since the beginning of 2024. Another victim, under the age of 17, recounted incidents in which Stewart allegedly touched her inappropriately under her clothing and forced her to sit on his lap while subjecting her to sexual contact.

The allegations against Thomas are equally alarming. Multiple children told investigators that they had been exposed to sexually explicit content through Thomas, including the discovery of nude selfies on a child's own iPad. Furthermore, two children reported that they were shown pornographic videos stored on the same device. One of these victims also alleged that Thomas had fondled her breast over her clothing.

A fourth victim reported that Thomas performed a sexual act upon him while he was under the age of 17. Investigators confirmed that another child witnessed this assault and corroborated the victim's statement to the police.

Criminal Charges and Pending Legal Action

Both suspects are now facing a lengthy list of severe felony charges. Christopher Stewart has been charged with:

  • One count of first degree statutory rape or attempted statutory rape

  • Two counts of statutory sodomy of a victim under the age of 14

  • Two counts of child molestation

Marissa Thomas is facing charges including:

  • One count of second degree statutory sodomy

  • One count of first degree endangering the welfare of a child

  • One count of fourth degree child molestation

  • Two counts of furnishing pornographic material or attempt to furnish to a minor

Both individuals are currently being held in custody as they await trial. Stewart is being held on a $300,000 bond, while Thomas is being held on a $2 million bond.

Authorities Seek Additional Information

Police believe that there may be further victims who have yet to come forward. The St. Louis County Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this case, or anyone who may have been a victim, to contact the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons immediately. They can be reached by phone at 314-615-5400.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of monitoring the safety and digital security of children. As the legal proceedings continue, the community remains focused on ensuring justice for the victims involved in this egregious breach of trust and safety.
