TV drama series ‘Suits’ was a hit from 2011 to 2019, spanning nine seasons before it eventually came to an end. Five years later, the show has gained new viewers and fans upon its arrival on streaming services Netflix and Peacock.
Reports indicate that collective viewership of Suits exceeded over one billion minutes. Given the recharged popularity, there’ve been growing calls to bring back the series or launch a spin-off. Actor Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross, also expressed he’d be more than happy to jump back into the show.
While Suits remains capped at nine seasons, a new spinoff is very much in the works. ‘Suits: LA’ was recently greenlit, with Victoria Mahoney set to direct. Aaron Korsh will write and executive produce the new series, just as he did with the original Suits.
What to know about Suits: LA
The plot centers around a new main character, this being Ted Black, a federal prosecutor from New York who relocates to Los Angeles as a corporate attorney.
All things considered, it appears that Ted Black will be to Suits: LA what Harvey Specter was to Suits. Like Specter, Black will find himself around other lawyers and people who impact his career and daily life. So far, there is no word on which actor will portray Black or the other characters he interacts with in Los Angeles.
